First, I would like to clarify that there is no "correct" body shape. Every body shape is beautiful, and we should celebrate all types of shapes and sizes❣️ However, some people may want to determine their body shape for style and fashion purposes, and that is what we will be discussing in this article👑

To identify your body shape, you need to focus on your natural body proportions, and how they compare to the body types - apple, pear, rectangular, and hourglass.

Apple shape: If you have a wider upper body, with broad shoulders and chest, and slimmer hips and legs, you have an apple body shape. The key to dressing an apple shape is to balance out the proportions by creating an illusion of a longer torso and elongating the legs. Tops with a v-neck or scoop neck, and high-waisted bottoms, such as trousers and skirts, can help create that illusion.

Pear shape: If your hips and thighs are wider than your shoulders and bust, you have a pear body shape. To dress a pear shape, you should aim to create a balance between the upper and lower body. This can be achieved by wearing clothing that accentuates the waistline and tops with details that enhance the shoulders, such as puff sleeves or ruffles.

If you have a rectangle body shape, your goal is to create the illusion of curves and to cinch in your waistline. To achieve this, you should try to add more definition to your upper and lower body proportions. For example, you can add volume to your shoulders and hips with shoulder pads and peplum tops. Additionally, you can create the illusion of a smaller waistline by wearing dresses and tops that have a fitted waistline or cinched with a belt. Avoid wearing loose-fitting clothes that could hang off your frame, as this will not help to define your curves. A variety of clothing options work well for a rectangle body shape, such as A-line skirts, bootcut pants, and jackets with a nipped-in waist.

Hourglass shape: If you have a well-defined waistline, with shoulders and hips in proportion, you have an hourglass body shape. Hourglass shapes should focus on accentuating their curves, and wear form-fitting clothes that create the appearance of an even more defined waistline. Wrap dresses, fitted tops, and high-waisted bottoms are great options for hourglass shapes.

It's important to remember that everyone's body shape is unique, and these three primary shapes are simply a guideline. Experiment with different outfits and styles to find what works best for you and makes you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin👑
